My name is Elana Erasmus, and I am a photographer based in South Africa. My love for the wild was instilled in me from a very young age, growing up in Etosha National Park in Namibia. When photography entered my life later on, my camera became the lens through which I could deepen my connection to the natural world. I am drawn to the challenge and diversity that nature and wildlife photography offer. It is a field where one can never truly claim mastery — there is always an elusive, once-in-a-lifetime image to pursue, a rare sighting to witness, a new species to record, a story waiting to be told, or evolving technology to embrace. The journey is endless, and that is what makes it so compelling. Photography fills my life with unforgettable moments. It constantly reminds me how fortunate I am to live in Africa — how privileged I am to experience the richness of this extraordinary continent, and how deeply rewarding it is to capture its wildlife and landscapes in all their untamed beauty.
